5 First Day Rules

You've got the job. Now how do you survive your first day at work?

1. When doing your makeup, focus on creating a look that says "healthy". So favour subtle shades and choose peach over fuchsia, terracotta over blood red, brown over electric blue and grey over lime green.
2. Be punctual. Even if you're working in a liberal, artsy, casual field, you should still be on time. It tells your employer that you're serious about the job.
3. Don't get too familiar. Just as you're new to the office, so are your colleagues to you. Give them time to warm up to you before you share intimate details about your sex life!
4. Be humble and polite. Nothing puts people off more than a snobbish know-it-all. If you're not sure about anything, don't assume and clarigy any doubts before proceeding. It's always better to be safe than sorry.
5. Mind your language. Punctuating your sentences with the f-word is a big no-no. Of course, that also applies to terms referring to the male and female anatomy.
